“Que sera sera” (Travel Time the sequel)

I had great holidays this past holy week!  I went to a few places.  My ‘supposed to be’ itinerary was mnl-bxu-bph-bxu-ceb-mnl.  It was only when I arrived in bxu that I found out that my route going to ceb ay dadaan pa ng cgy!  In actual, one place was added.  It was cgy.  So it became mnl-bxu-bph-bxu-cgy-ceb-mnl.  I travelled to 5 cities in 5 days!  To be honest, I haven’t slept yet (a wholesome sleep I mean) since Good Friday until now na nagcocompose ako sa blog na to.  Ang bigat ng bag ko.  I didn’t use a trolley.  Hindi ako nakakoche my dear so I must be rugged.  Full-packed ang backpack ko.  Not an ordinary backpack but a climber’s backpack.  Minor handcarries ko were my two tennis rackets. Hehehe.

When I bought my boat ticket last Tuesday, I didn’t check the route basta ang importante nas-ceb yun. If the ship departs nas at 2pm, then it should arrive in cebu at 2am.  12 hours lang yun eh.  The ticket agent said baka raw may dadaanan pa ang barko.  I said ok. I’d be able to catch my flight na.  A kind of flight na parang mangmumu.  Sa bisaya pa, *******  !   Hahahaha!

I woke up early in the morning because I will be taking a bus going to airport.  Yoko magtaxi. I envied those lining up for Kalibo/Boracay. I envied those wearing slippers, beach pants, sandos with two-piece na as undergarment, netbags, snorkels and other gadgets. I had a few acquaintances that moment.  Sa inip ba naman, nde ka makipagkaibigan?  And oh come on, friends kami ng seatmate ko.  She’s an American kolehiyala from south Carolina (where Katrina hit?).  Sabi nya, she’s coming with her bf’s family.  Bf nya pala yung katabi nya.  Ang swerte ng bf nya!   Tsk tsk tsk.  (Darl, keep your mouth shut.)  It has been a long time that I haven’t landed at bxu airport.  It has a short runway.  Pag-landing pa lang, brake na agad!  Screech screech screech.  Hahahaha!  Exaj lang…… Kau naman.  J

I hate to be called ‘mam’.  So in return, I said, “Di ko mag van Ser”.  “Van lang mam, aircon pa, hapit na mapuno”.  I asked in Cebuano, “magkano ba van”?  “100 mam”.  My maldita and kuripot me said, “kamahal!  magjeep or magmulticab nalang ko”.  “100 din mam ang multicab mam kc special trip eh”.  “Ayaw ko mag special trip!  Ang lapit-lapit ng bancasi to langihan, 100?  Ako pa niloloko nyo?  Yung multicab na namimick-up lang sasakyan ko”.  “Mam, dun po kayo mag-abang sa labas”.  “Way blema Ser, ok ra nako”. I learned from him na minimum fare lang ang dumadaang multicabs.  See that!  Then may isang naging friend na naman ako sa multicab.  He was a Spanish, from Barcelona.  Nag-aadventure xa dito sa Pinas.  Then we talked blah blah blah.  Kulang nalang sabihin kong “You colonized Philippines, didn’t you”?  Mwehehehehe.

To be continued……….

Panis na Blog (Travel Time)

Panis na ang blog entry na to.  Nevertheless, it’s worth posting.  I was in a hurry last Wednesday and I forgot to post this entry.  Expect more subsequent entries relating to this entry (redundant ano?  =)  I dunno if you find them funny (because I do! Hehehe.)

Quarter 1….A season of exhaustion, busy-ness, excitement and anxiety.  (Eto sana ang title)

Exhaustion  (and busy-ness)

January is an extension of Christmas holidays.  The holiday season ends on ‘3 kings’?  Some of us are still blank even when getting back to work because we are still imagining the relaxing or fun-filled days of our vacation.  We wanted it to extend even more!  But those fantasies have to be stopped because we need to manage our year-end backlogs and year-end closing of books.  To sum up….we’re all exhausted.

Excitement  (and busy-ness)

Who wouldn’t be excited on February?  The valentines day?  The Penagbenga day in Baguio City?  My birthday?  (Duh, na mention pahJ)

And who wouldn’t be more excited on March?  Graduation day, start of summer, etc etc.  And who wouldn’t be exhausted?  Bringing all transactions in to Q1 (quarter one)?  Polishing transactions for year 2005?  Meeting targets for 2005?  Wrapping up issues for 2005 and Q1?  It’s a braindrain my goodness!

Anxiety  (and busy-ness)

Who wouldn’t be anxious of paying taxes every April?  Planning where you will spend your summer?  Chasing airline promos for June-October travel?  Saving up for tuition fee for this school-year’s opening?  Self-reflection this holy week (naks! hehehe) ?

SO HERE’S MY TURN TO UNWIND.  I was off at work early yesterday and the four conditions mentioned above were relevant.  I went ‘praning’ on calling wga superferry to ask if there are still available slots for a nas-ceb trip on Apr 15.  Good there were still 30 slots!  So I moved fast and headed to ticket express in Greenbelt 1.  Pagdating ko dun, lam nyo ba ilang slots nalang?  10 slots!  Goodness, in a matter of 15-20 minutes walk, ubos na ang 20 slots?

Ganito kasi ang puzzle ko.

Day 1 ng trip ko is by air mnl-bxu, by land bxu-bph.

Day 2 is rest.

Day 3 byahe ulet by land bph-bxu.  On the night of day 3, by sea naman bxu/nas-cebu.

Day 4 is rest.

Day 5 by air again ceb-mnl.  (Sorry for those who doesn’t understand the codes.  Mahilig lang ako nun kc I was in *****  before eh, so lam ko yung mga airport and seaport codes. Hehehehe.  For short, lakwatsera).

Going back sa puzzle ko, I did not realize that I will be travelling on a peak season pala, holy week ngayon eh.  This is my first time to travel on peak season since year 2002 if my memory is not mistaken.  What’s missing in my itinerary yesterday is the night of day 3, by sea naman bxu/nas-cebu.  Wala akong ticket pambarko!  How can I be able to cross Mindanao to Visayas kung nde ako makasakay ng barko?  I really have a tight sked since meron na akong plane ticket pabalik ng Manila and I can’t cancel it, of course not!  Pero knowing wala akong ticket for nas-ceb?  Haaay, buti nalang nakabili ako.  One word lang ang kulang sa puzzle ko and that is ‘kaengotan’.   Hehehe.

Bye!  I am leaving tonight.  Advance Happy Easter!
